The Greater Manchester Train Network
A map poster displaying a time-lapse of the Greater Manchester rail network from 1830 to the present day.
An academic project that had me design a map poster based on any location. This project required me to do deep research into a chosen topic and design a map that displays significant change over time in 2-3 maps.
I chose a darker color pallete for this project to help me bring more emphasis to text and graphics created for the map. I chose a serif font for the body text, while all other text is a mixture of two sans–serif fonts. The typeface used for labeling is the official typeface for the British Railway used in the United Kingdom.
